Many of you have been searching for a review on this amazing Asus ROG XG27AQM gaming monitor, well I’m proud to say it’s finally the Asus XG27AQM review is here! First and foremost Asus is an amazing brand and they have produced many quality products throughout the years. I’m privileged to say that this Asus ROG XG27AQM gaming monitor has become one of them on that list. I’ll do my best at providing you with the best information as possible regarding this monitor so let’s dive right in.

Let me start off by saying that we did a ton of research online before making this review and to be honest, we were unsure if this would be a good purchase after reading and watching every review on the net. But hear me out.. now that this glorious monitor is sitting on my desk, I knew that buying it and testing it was the best option for me because, I realize just how outrageously nit-picky the tech reviewers online can be. Most of their complaints are about tiny differences in specification numbers and subjective opinions that at the end of the day, are virtually imperceptible.

A lot of reviewers have complained about the bezels being wide, but I think they’re fine in all honesty and in my personal opinion. I’ve heard complaints about the text being illegible, but the text looks just fine to me at 125% scaling with no ClearType tweaking.

What was also said is the pixel response times are slow but it feels extremely snappy to me. People whine about the stand not having height or swivel adjustments, but I think it looks dope and the tilt is all I care about. Others complain that you can’t do 10-bit color at 120Hz without chroma sub-sampling, which is true but I’ll be damned if I can tell the difference between 8-bit and 10-bit color.

I read that one guy complained that it was way too big and nobody needs a monitor this big, but it’s just perfect if you have a grown-up-sized desk with a keyboard tray that positions you ~4 feet away. I even saw a review that complained about how no cables or remote batteries were included, but they must have had an engineering sample because mine came with every cable you could ever need and batteries in the remote. Now we talking a steal of a deal here with this Asus ROG XG27AQM.

Of course, there isn’t a perfect monitor, but I must say this one comes pretty close and marks all the boxes for me as a proud user. So what else do I have to say about so much of the negativity regarding this monitor that shouldn’t really be there in the first place?

Ignore all the nonsense!! This monitor is pure awesome! I am totally blown away at how much of an incredibly massive upgrade this is from a 1080p HDTV @ 60Hz. The refresh rate makes everything feel silky smooth as long as you have the video card to drive it and configure your game settings properly. The colors are really bright and vivid. There is no perceptible backlight bleed or dead pixels.

The 2K resolution is beyond amazing. The brightness is so intense I actually turned mine down a bit from the factory default. When you shut your computer off, the monitor only displays a brief message about no signal then the screen goes black, so you can just leave it powered on all the time if you want. I could go on about this amazing monitor, but go ahead and order one for yourself. I’m almost sure that you won’t regret it. Anyways below are more product specific details on the ASUS ROG Gaming Monitor (XG27AQM).

I checked Asus product lineup on their page and came across this gem With a similarly fast IPS panel, the XG279Q. I couldn’t find any comprehensive reviews on it, just a reddit thread linking to a Korean review on YouTube, a handful of user reviews on Newegg and what’s here. I was very nervous to drop $650 after tax on something that wasn’t well-reviewed. I really had no idea if this display would live up to the high price point. I kept thinking with these specs why are there virtually no reviews on YouTube? Finally I said screw it I can return it if it doesn’t deliver.

-I really wished ASUS changed the design of the monitor ports for these monitors so the cables weren't so bent going in. It goes up vertically and if your displayport is too bulky, the wires will get really bent going in. I've had to purchase separate ones, ones labeled "DisplayPort 1.4" from Maxonar Store on Amazon. -Flickering @ 270hz stopped when I got the DisplayPort 1.4 cable. This is a different sort of screen-black-out that occurred without Adaptive sync turned on. Keep in mind there is a disclaimer when turning on 270hz that screen-flickering may occur. But so far, I've used it for 2 months now and havent had it happen after a few months now so we good!

The Asus XG27AQM is a great choice for gamers who appreciate high-quality visuals and accurate colors. Its 1440p resolution and IPS panel provide a sharp and immersive gaming experience, while its wide viewing angles and low input lag make it a great option for console gaming.

Furthermore, the XG27AQM is one of the few monitors on the market that offer FreeSync over HDMI, making it an affordable option for those with AMD graphics cards. However, there are a few drawbacks to consider.

Chief among them is the lack of HDR support, which will be a dealbreaker for some gamers. Additionally, the stand is not as adjustable as we would like, and the overall design is a bit plain. Nevertheless, the Asus XG27AQM is probably the best out today!
