Netflix has become the world’s number one TV content platform. Inside there are films, documentaries and TV series of all kinds, designed to meet the needs of a wide audience. However, in order to access the wide range of this service, it is necessary that the TV is connected to the internet.

What to do, then, in case your television is not smart? Well, you’ll be happy to know that to date there are multiple options at your disposal that allow you to enjoy the entertainment offered by Netflix in a simple, intuitive and economical way. In this guide we are going to discover them one by one, so that you can choose the one that best meets your needs.

1. Amazon Fire Stick

Here’s the first option that allows you to watch Netflix on your non-smart TV: theAmazon Fire Stick. The design of this device is very reminiscent of a USB stick, which you can manage through the convenient remote control provided. To be able to use it you will only have to connect it to the HDMI port of your TV, present on the back of the panel.

When you turn on the TV you will have to spend a few minutes of your time setting up the device and, of course, download the Netflix app. However, if you want, you can also access other streaming services, such as Disney+, DAZN, Amazon Prime Video or Infinity. Clearly, once you have downloaded the apps, you will have to log in with your data, in case you already have a subscription.

Otherwise, you can make the free trial made available by these services. The maximum resolution offered by the Amazon Fire Stick is the Full HD, which although not the top of the range, ensures an excellent view of the contents. To move around the app you will have to use the remote control that you find inside the package. As you will see, the keys present are few compared to those present on a normal remote control, but they are the essential ones to allow you a simple and comfortable management.

2. Chromecast

Chromecast we can say functions in a very similar way to the Amazon Fire Stick, although, offering two different resolutions, it turns out to be more complete. The Full HD one costs € 39, while the UHD 4K € 79. Our advice, despite the fact that there are very similar versions on Amazon, is to buy these dongles at the official Google store. As in the previous case, here too you will have to insert the device into the HDMI port of your television. The difference is that the Chromecast will have to be powered through the power outlet or USB port, which it is equipped with.

Next, you will have to set it up, so that you can access all the streaming services you prefer, Netflix included. However, in order for it to work, it is necessary that the device is connected to the same Wifi network from which the streaming comes (PC, phone or tablet). To connect from the computer (both Windows and macOS) you will have to use the Google Chrome browser, and then connect to the official Netflix website and transfer the screen to the television panel.

First, however, do not forget to connect the two devices to the Wifi network, otherwise you will not be able to transmit the contents. In a very similar way, the same goes for the connection from devices such as the tablet or smartphone. In this case you will have to access the Netflix app and go tothe broadcast icon, present at the top right. At this point all you have to do is click on the Chromecast item and you’re done.

3. Apple TV

The third and last device that will come in handy for watching Netflix on non-smart TV is the Apple TV. In this case it is not a USB stick, but a small box to be placed near the television. As with the Amazon Fire Stick, here too you will receive the supplied remote control, useful for browsing the apps of your interest. At the moment there are several options to choose from:

Once you have chosen the version that best suits your needs you just have to connect the Apple TV to the television via the HDMI cable. After that, you can proceed with downloading your favorite streaming services, and log in with your credentials. It should be noted that the purchase of the Apple TV also allows you to be able to transmit the multimedia files of Apple devices to the television. This feature has made it an essential product for owners of iPhone or iPad, who despite having the smart TV, had problems connecting their devices to the television panel.

4. HDMI cable

The fourth option that you can rely on to watch Netflix on the non-smart TV is the HDMI cable, which will have to be connected to the PC. This, wanting to look at, is the easiest and cheapest mode to choose from. By connecting the HDMI cable to your computer you can transmit, in less than 10 seconds, the screen on the panel, and watch any content you want. If you do not have an HDMI cable at home, we recommend that you take a look at this model, which despite being very cheap, performs its duty properly.

Well, now that you have all the information at your disposal to watch Netflix on your non-smart TV you just have to get comfortable and start watching your favorite series.
