Today we analyze a new television model of the house that perhaps most of all is imposing itself on the market: Samsung. The model we are analyzing today is the Q70A , a definitely medium-high-end product, available in three sizes, not under 55 inches, which already suggests the potential of this television. But first, as always, let’s briefly analyze some of the key features of this product, all (as usual) to get us an overview of the technologies in the field:
- Screen technology: QLED
- Screen resolution: 4K
- Quantum HDR: Yes
- Operating System: Tizen ™
- Internet and wifi: Yes
- USB ports: 2
- HDMI ports: 4
- Ethernet (LAN): Yes
As obviously we often reiterate, the specifications indicated are always very few compared to all those present in an instruction manual. So let’s proceed to go into the details of the product in question . To do this, we start from the processor which, as with any electronic device, manages a bit of the whole set of technologies put in place to provide you with an exceptional experience. In this case, the work is done by the Quantum 4K processor, which performs its task very well and manages the TV experience excellently, providing us with an excellent visual result.
Colors are, as always, one of the components on which the innovative and production efforts of the world’s leading companies are most concentrated. In this case, Quantum HDR takes the field . With this technology we have noticed that the change is clear. The colors become lively, but above all it is the blacks that surprise for their effective depth. How many times have we had to put up with blacks that were actually annoying grays? This is finally not the case.
Another technology that contributes to making the visual experience even more immersive, combining perfectly with Quantum HDR technology is the so-called Dual Led . According to many, dual LEDs should be the television revolution. We have noticed an effective color gamut width, which improves the overall image rendering and the difference with a “simple” LED backlight TV is visible even to a less experienced eye.
Setting aside for a moment the set of technologies related to image quality, we focus on the audio sector which, as you well know, must never be left in the background, especially if you choose a new television with a not exactly low price. In the Samsung Q70A we noticed a particular innovation that pleasantly surprised us. In fact, the TV is equipped with intelligent amplifiers, called AVAs , which recognize the voices in what we are seeing and amplify them specifically to allow us to listen clearly even in the case of background noise. This aspect will be particularly appreciated by lovers of films and TV series who often make dialogue (compared to images) their strong point.
The qualities of this product seem to be infinite and even from the “Smart” point of view it seems to have no limits and indeed presents some goodies not bad. Obviously it has a rich catalog of applications: from the most common streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime , to the social networks that we all use every day on mobile and computers. One application in particular caught our interest, namely Samsung Health . According to what we have seen, this should help you, through the use of a webcam (NOT present at the time of purchase), to perform daily physical exercises to stay fit and healthy.
A detail that we do not forget and we mention with pleasure.
This smart component obviously extends to other areas beyond that of simple applications. In fact, this Samsung model is equipped with built-in voice assistants, which makes it easy to integrate with our home automation system. In short, you can simply use the television, using your voice. A detail that will now seem almost taken for granted, but which still struggles to establish itself in the television market today.
Samsung has also worked a lot on the “Gaming” sector of this Q70A, implementing the Motion Xcelerator Turbo + . We detected a remarkable refresh rate (120Hz) which guaranteed us a satisfying and fluid gaming experience, also thanks to the technology implemented and certified by AMD, the FreeSync Premium Pro.
In conclusion, we consider the Samsung Q70A to be an excellent product. This also justifies the only sore point we could find, namely its cost, which makes it a high-end television.
